Job Overview: The role of the Individual Contractor within the Financing for Development Section (FFDS) of the Macroeconomic Policy and Financing for Development Division (MPFD) at UN ESCAP is crucial for supporting member states in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This position involves providing high-quality, client-friendly support to UN ESCAP and its beneficiaries, particularly in the context of the Development Account 16 (DA16) project. The contractor will be responsible for transforming training materials into e-learning content, coordinating capacity-building workshops, and maintaining a repository of training materials. The contractor will work closely with various stakeholders, including government authorities and financial institutions, to enhance their capacity to mobilize sustainable finance and align it with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The expected duration of this contract is from July 20, 2026, to January 19, 2027, during which the contractor will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of training and capacity-building initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The contractor will undertake a variety of tasks aimed at supporting the FFDS team throughout the lifecycle of specific capacity-building workshops. Key responsibilities include:
Providing logistical and programmatic support for the design, delivery, and coordination of targeted Capacity Building Workshops, including organizing workshops related to Cambodia’s National Sustainable Finance Roadmap and collaborating with local partners for capacity-building initiatives.
Assisting in the drafting and transformation of training materials into e-learning content to meet the DA16 project’s objectives.
Preparing and refining supporting training materials, ensuring they are tailored to the specific needs of member states.
Compiling and maintaining a consolidated repository of training materials, ensuring they are organized, version-controlled, and accessible for future use.
Delivering logistical and coordination support for large-scale regional workshops, ensuring smooth and professional execution of events.
Contributing to the overall success of the DA16 project by ensuring that all outputs meet quality standards and are responsive to the needs of member states.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Doctorate or equivalent) in fields such as economics, finance, international relations, public administration, communications, or regional studies. Additionally, candidates should have at least one year of professional or volunteer experience in research, project support, event coordination, or drafting policy documents. Proficiency in computer literacy is essential, particularly with tools for creating e-learning materials and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Experience in organizing international meetings via virtual platforms like MS Teams and Zoom is also required.
Educational Background: The position requires an advanced university degree, specifically a Doctorate or equivalent, in relevant fields such as economics, finance, international relations, public administration, communications, or regional studies. This educational background is critical for understanding the complexities of financing for development and the sustainable development goals.
Experience: The contractor must have a minimum of one year of professional or volunteer experience in relevant areas such as conducting research, providing project support, coordinating events, or drafting policy and knowledge products.
