Job Overview: The position of Experto (a) informático is focused on driving digital innovation within the Control and Monitoring Department of the PSA Program at FONAFIFO. The consultant will be responsible for enhancing the digital capabilities of the department, ensuring that technological solutions are effectively integrated into the procurement processes. This role requires a deep understanding of both information technology and procurement practices, as well as the ability to innovate and implement new digital tools that can streamline operations and improve efficiency. The consultant will work closely with various stakeholders to identify needs, develop solutions, and ensure that the digital transformation aligns with the strategic goals of the organization. The position is expected to last for a maximum of 7 months, starting from the official contract commencement date, and will involve collaboration with UNDP's Quantum supplier portal system for managing bids and proposals.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Experto (a) informático include but are not limited to:
Assessing the current digital tools and processes used within the Control and Monitoring Department and identifying areas for improvement.
Collaborating with department staff to gather requirements for new digital solutions that meet their operational needs.
Designing and implementing innovative digital solutions that enhance procurement processes, including automation of workflows and data management.
Providing training and support to department staff on new digital tools and technologies.
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of implemented solutions and making necessary adjustments based on feedback and performance metrics.
Ensuring compliance with UNDP's procurement policies and procedures throughout the digital transformation process.
Engaging with external vendors and technology partners to explore potential collaborations and solutions that can benefit the department.
Preparing reports and documentation related to the digital innovation initiatives and presenting findings to senior management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in information technology, particularly in relation to digital transformation and procurement processes. A proven track record of successfully implementing digital solutions in a similar context is essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Familiarity with UNDP's procurement policies and procedures is highly desirable, along with experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A master's degree in a relevant discipline would be an advantage. Candidates should have formal training or certifications in digital transformation, project management, or procurement processes to enhance their qualifications for this role.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in information technology, with a focus on digital innovation and procurement processes, is required. Experience working with international organizations or in a consulting capacity is preferred. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively and deliver results within set timelines.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the position requires communication with local stakeholders and documentation in Spanish. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may be necessary for collaboration with international teams and accessing global resources.
Additional Notes: This position is classified as an individual contractor role, and the contract duration is limited to a maximum of 7 months.
