Job Overview: The Grants and Partnerships Officer will play a crucial role within the DRC Türkiye’s Grants and Partnership Unit, which is responsible for managing all aspects of grants and partnerships throughout the project cycle. This position involves supporting the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator in various tasks, including tracking project progress, developing high-quality donor reports, managing communications, and overseeing capacity-building activities. The officer will work closely with civil society organizations (CSOs) and may also engage with government institutions and the private sector as needed. The role requires a strong focus on compliance with DRC procedures and guidelines, contributing to the development of country strategies and ensuring effective management of grants and partnerships. The officer will also provide technical guidance to country operations and support the overall objectives of the organization in Türkiye.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Grants and Partnerships Officer will have a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including:
Reporting and Record Keeping: Lead the tracking and coordination of donor reporting in accordance with donor and DRC requirements, maintaining the Donor Reporting Tracker. Ensure all grants and partnerships-related documents are properly filed on SharePoint and conduct bi-monthly audits.
Project Development and Coordination: Facilitate communication across departments for proposal and budget drafting, lead proposal development timelines, and organize kick-off and review meetings to monitor project implementation.
Resource Mobilization: Maintain up-to-date information on donor strategies and funding opportunities.
Partnerships Management: Manage partners’ sub-grants throughout their lifecycle, draft agreements, ensure timely signing, and collaborate with finance for accurate reporting. Organize meetings with partners and oversee their progress reports, addressing any issues that arise.
Relationship Management: Develop and strengthen relationships with local partners and DRC colleagues to maintain trust and uphold professional standards.
Required Qualifications: To be considered for the Grants and Partnerships Officer position, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
A minimum of 2 years of experience in grants and/or partnership management within an international non-governmental organization.
Strong writing skills and attention to detail, with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Interpersonal and problem-solving skills, along with representation, negotiation, and diplomacy skills.
Ability to work effectively in a multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, and multi-disciplinary environment.
Adequate computer literacy, particularly in Excel, with experience in finance and budgeting being highly desirable.
Full professional proficiency in English and fluency in Turkish is required.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in law, political science, international development, economics, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of grants management and partnership development within the context of humanitarian work.
Experience: The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience in grants and partnership management, preferably within an international non-governmental organization. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage complex projects, engage with diverse stakeholders, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.
Languages: Fluency in Turkish is mandatory for this position, as it involves communication with local partners and stakeholders. Additionally, full professional proficiency in English is required to prepare reports, proposals, and other documentation for international audiences. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
Additional Notes: The contract for this position is set to last until December 31, 2026, and the role is classified as a non-managerial position within the H band. The designated duty station is the Country Office located in Gaziantep, Turkey, and the start date is as soon as possible.
