Job Overview:
The Talent Management Division, based in Headquarters, Switzerland, is seeking an experienced online volunteer to support the visual design and layout of the Mobility SharePoint site and the Viva Engage Channel. This role involves close collaboration with the Forecasting, Mobility and Planning (FMP) unit to create a user-friendly, visually engaging, and accessible platform that reflects IOM branding and effectively communicates key mobility-related content to staff. The volunteer will also contribute to multimedia content creation, including short videos and visual storytelling elements, to enhance internal communication and engagement. This position is crucial for ensuring that the internal platforms are not only functional but also engaging and aligned with IOM's mission and values.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteer will be responsible for several key tasks, including:
  • SharePoint Design: - Designing the visual layout and structure of the Mobility SharePoint site. - Creating custom graphics, icons, banners, and infographics to enhance user experience. - Ensuring consistency in branding, color schemes, and formatting across all pages. - Advising on best practices for SharePoint design and user navigation. - Ensuring accessibility standards are met for digital content. - Providing editable design files and documentation for future updates.
  • Viva Engage Channel Support: - Designing visual assets for posts. - Drafting engaging content to promote mobility-related updates, events, and resources. - Supporting interactive features such as polls, Q&A, and feedback prompts. - Collaborating with the strategic workforce team to align messaging and tone with IOM’s values. - Monitoring engagement and suggesting improvements to boost participation.
  • Multimedia Support: - Collaborating with the Forecasting, Mobility and Planning Unit to conceptualize and produce short videos and multimedia content for internal communication. - Assisting in video editing, motion graphics, and visual storytelling aligned with IOM branding. - Ensuring accessibility and format compatibility across platforms (SharePoint, Viva Engage, etc.).

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position should possess a strong background in graphic design, multimedia content creation, and user experience design. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) is essential. The candidate should also have a good understanding of SharePoint and its functionalities, as well as experience in creating engaging digital content for internal communications. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to effectively collaborate with various teams and convey messages clearly. Additionally, the candidate should be detail-oriented, creative, and able to work independently while meeting deadlines.

Educational Background:
A degree in graphic design, multimedia arts, communications, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with relevant certifications or coursework in design and digital media will also be considered. A strong portfolio showcasing previous design work and multimedia projects is highly desirable.

Experience:
Candidates should have prior experience in graphic design and multimedia content creation, ideally within a corporate or organizational setting. Experience working with SharePoint or similar platforms is a plus. The role may require familiarity with internal communication strategies and an understanding of how to engage staff through digital content. Previous volunteer or internship experience in a similar capacity will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within IOM. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly French or Spanish, would be considered an asset, as it may enhance communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
