Job Overview: The National UN Volunteer Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the IOM Ukraine's Programme Support Unit. This position involves providing specialized support for program development, reporting, and coordination with various program teams. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Chief of Mission and the Head of the Programme Support Unit. The role is essential for maintaining good relationships with donors, which is vital for securing funding for beneficiaries in Ukraine. The position requires a proactive approach to updating donor information, contributing to project development, and engaging with various stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Regularly update donor information, including profiles, funding cycles, and priorities for resource mobilization.
Assist with project development by consolidating and developing concept notes and proposals in coordination with the program team and thematic specialists.
Collect, compile, and provide inputs for internal and external documents requested by stakeholders, including donors and IOM units.
Liaise with other units within the Programme Support Unit, including Information Management and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning, to complete reports and requests.
Prepare for meetings and events, including donor briefings and conferences, by assembling documents and drafting concept papers.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate strong accountability, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning. Excellent communication skills, creativity, and professionalism are essential. The ability to work in teams and respect diversity are also critical competencies for this role. The candidate should be able to manage their time effectively and plan and organize tasks efficiently.
Educational Background: A relevant degree in social sciences, international relations, or a related field is required. Additional training or certifications in project management or resource mobilization would be advantageous.
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in program support, project development, or resource mobilization, preferably within an international organization or non-governmental organization. Experience working in a humanitarian or development context is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian is considered an asset. Proficiency in additional languages may enhance the candidate's profile.
Additional Notes: This is a full-time national UN volunteer position. The contract duration is specified in the vacancy announcement, with the possibility of extensions based on funding availability and performance. The volunteer will receive a monthly living allowance of USD 1587, a one-time entry lump sum of USD 400, and medical and life insurance coverage. Leave entitlements include annual leave, learning leave, and sick leave, with specific accrual rates and conditions outlined.
