Job Overview:
The Assistant Shift Supervisor (Warehouse) plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of the Commissary Warehouse at the Vienna International Centre. Reporting directly to the Unit Head (Sales and Warehouse), this position involves overseeing daily warehouse operations in collaboration with the Shift Supervisor. The Assistant Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the warehouse operates smoothly, adhering to safety regulations, and managing the receipt and storage of goods. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and effective communication with team members and external partners. The Assistant Shift Supervisor must also maintain accurate inventory records and assist in administrative tasks related to warehouse operations, ensuring that the needs of the Commissary are met efficiently and effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Shift Supervisor (Warehouse) include supervising the warehouse operations during overlapping shifts with the Shift Supervisor, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing the unloading of goods from freight forwarders. The role involves receiving goods, verifying their condition against delivery documents, and reporting any discrepancies. The Assistant Shift Supervisor is responsible for organizing the storage of goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring timely transfers of goods to the Salesroom and other outlets. Additionally, the position requires performing administrative tasks such as scheduling shifts, coordinating delivery schedules, and maintaining the physical security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security of the warehouse. The Assistant Shift Supervisor must also support the Shift Supervisor in ensuring that the sales area is adequately stocked and may provide backup at the Information Desk during staff shortages.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess completed secondary education and a valid forklift driver's license. A minimum of four years of relevant working experience in storekeeping and handling consumer goods is required. Candidates should demonstrate good health and physical fitness to perform strenuous tasks. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) is essential, along with experience in computer applications and knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems being an advantage. Excellent oral and written command of English is mandatory, while knowledge of other official IAEA languages such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish is considered an asset. Administrative skills testing may be part of the selection process.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes completed secondary education. This foundational education is essential for understanding the operational and administrative tasks associated with warehouse management and logistics.

Experience:
The position requires at least four years of working experience in relevant fields, particularly in storekeeping and handling consumer goods. Languages:

Additional Notes:
The IAEA offers an attractive remuneration package, including a tax-free annual net base salary starting at EUR 50,032, subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance. Employees are entitled to six weeks of annual vacation, a pension plan, and health insurance. The recruitment process is conducted on a local basis, and applicants should be aware that IAEA staff members are international civil servants.
