Job Overview: The (Senior) Investment Officer position within the Manufacturing, Agribusiness, and Services (MAS) department at IFC is a pivotal role that involves originating, structuring, and executing investment projects primarily in Peru, with some engagement in the Andean Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading business development efforts across various sectors, including tourism, retail, properties, health, and education. This role requires a deep understanding of the local business environment and the ability to develop strong relationships with local stakeholders. The Investment Officer will engage in portfolio management activities, including restructurings and equity supervision, while also focusing on increasing investments and client engagements through comprehensive value-added propositions. Duties and Responsibilities: The specific responsibilities of the (Senior) Investment Officer include leading business development efforts across MAS sectors in Peru, structuring and negotiating MAS transactions, and managing client relationships. The officer will identify priority companies to target as IFC clients, develop a local network with financial institutions and advisors, and structure bankable transactions aligned with client needs. Responsibilities also include evaluating and closing new MAS transactions, leading negotiations, and ensuring timely processing and client satisfaction. The officer will review work provided by clients and team members, develop innovative financial structures for complex transactions, and actively manage relationships with clients and stakeholders. Additionally, the officer will coordinate with advisory and environmental teams, collaborate on strategic market creation, and mentor junior staff, fostering professional development within the organization.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a related field such as business, finance, or economics, along with 8 to 14 years of relevant experience. A proven track record in sourcing, structuring, and closing investments, particularly in the MAS sectors in Peru and the Andean Region, is essential. Strong financial and credit skills are required, along with the ability to structure various financial instruments and process complex transactions. Candidates should demonstrate excellent business development and client relationship skills, with a focus on understanding and addressing client needs effectively.
