The bureau is dedicated to resource mobilization and strategic outreach across the Arab States region, ensuring that UNDP's impact is effectively communicated through data-driven insights and storytelling. The Partnerships Team within RBAS is particularly focused on diversifying partnerships with traditional and emerging donors, international financial institutions (IFIs), private sector entities, and philanthropic organizations, thereby enhancing the organization's ability to meet its objectives and support sustainable development across the region.

Job Overview:
The Knowledge and Partnerships Analyst position is integral to the Partnerships Team at RBAS, focusing on data management, analytics, and knowledge sharing related to resource mobilization and partnership initiatives in the Arab States region. The role requires the incumbent to compile and analyze resource-mobilization data and partnership trends, contributing to the development of communications products and analytics that support the Partnerships Team's objectives. The Analyst will be responsible for tracking financing trends, donor behaviors, and partnership outcomes, maintaining datasets and visual trackers, and producing analytical briefs to inform strategic outreach and advocacy efforts. This position is designed for individuals who are adept at using data to drive decision-making and enhance UNDP's positioning with donors and partners, thereby playing a pivotal role in the organization's mission to foster sustainable development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will undertake a variety of duties as part of the Partnerships Team, including but not limited to:
  • Resource Mobilization Analytics: Tracking and analyzing financing trends, donor behaviors, and partnership outcomes across RBAS Country Offices and the Regional Programme. Maintaining and updating datasets, dashboards, and visual trackers on contributions and partnership engagement. Producing analytical briefs and visualizations to inform strategic outreach and internal planning. Conducting targeted research on donor priorities and funding mechanisms to inform partnership strategy. Providing data inputs for concept notes and funding proposals.
  • Knowledge and Information Management: Compiling studies and best practices on successful partnership initiatives, preparing infographics and data-driven materials for key donors, and maintaining internal knowledge repositories.
  • Partner Engagement and Visibility Support: Assisting in partner engagement initiatives, drafting briefing materials, and supporting logistics for partnership meetings and events.
  • Operational and Team Support: Assisting with workplan tracking, SharePoint management, and drafting summary notes for briefings with partners. The Analyst will also perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the Office and the Organization.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Economics, International Development, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the aforementioned areas combined with two years of qualifying experience will be considered. The role requires demonstrated experience and proficiency in office software packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Client Relation Management software. Strong experience in graphic/publication software such as Adobe Illustrator and InDesign is also essential. Candidates should have the ability to analyze and synthesize development financing data and donor trends, as well as experience preparing briefs and visual materials for external audiences.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields such as Public Administration, Business Administration, Political Science, Economics, or International Development. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in these areas will be considered if they have two years of relevant professional experience. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of resource mobilization and partnership management within the context of international development.

Experience:
The level of experience required for this position varies based on educational qualifications. Applicants with a master’s degree (or equivalent) are not required to have professional work experience. However, those with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) must have a minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in project operations or financial management at a regional or international level. Experience in data analytics and donor intelligence for an international organization is highly desirable, as is familiarity with UN regulations and practices.

Languages:
