Job Overview:
The position of Receptionist with expanded function of Administrative Assistant at the World Bank Office in Uzbekistan is designed for a highly organized and experienced individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. This role is crucial for providing administrative support to the Uzbekistan Country Office, which is actively involved in implementing the Government of Uzbekistan's ambitious market-oriented reforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing communications, coordinating office activities, and ensuring that the reception area operates smoothly. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Receptionist will also play a key role in facilitating communication between staff and external stakeholders, thereby contributing to the overall effectiveness of the office.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Receptionist will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: answering and transferring incoming telephone calls, greeting office visitors and connecting them with relevant staff, maintaining an up-to-date staff telephone list, registering and distributing incoming correspondence, coordinating the registration and scanning of outgoing letters, monitoring responses to incoming correspondence, and managing the distribution of outgoing letters with couriers. Additionally, the Receptionist will prepare letters in required languages, file hard copies of correspondence, assist with ad-hoc requests such as transportation arrangements, maintain diplomatic pouch registration, order office supplies, track conference room usage, and assist in the preparation and logistical planning for office events. The role also includes performing basic clerical tasks and ensuring that the reception desk is staffed during office hours.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Attention to detail and quality is critical, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Flexibility and adaptability to new solutions are important, as is a positive and professional client service attitude. Candidates should possess good communication skills and be able to write clearly, edit, and proofread documents in English and Russian. The ability to manage information effectively and support the retention and disposition of records is also required.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required for this position. The educational background should ideally be in a field related to administration, business, or a similar area that supports the functions of the role. Candidates with relevant certifications or additional training in office management or administration will be viewed favorably.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant experience in administrative support or a similar role. Previous experience working with an international organization is considered an advantage, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational standards and expectations of such environments. Experience in a fast-paced office setting where multitasking and effective communication are essential will also be beneficial.

Languages:
Strong proficiency in English and Russian, both verbal and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of the Uzbek language is considered an advantage, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and enhance the effectiveness of the role. Candidates should be able to demonstrate their language skills through previous experience or formal education.

This position is a temporary appointment with a term duration of one year, which may be renewable at the discretion of the World Bank Group.
