Job Overview: The Driver position at UN Women involves providing reliable and safe driving services to the UN Women Country Representative, other UN officials, and visitors. In addition to driving, the Driver may also be required to assist with administrative and logistical support as needed, ensuring the efficient functioning of the office and the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide reliable and secure driving services, including transporting UN Women officials and visitors, delivering and collecting mail and documents, and facilitating VIP missions.
Ensure proper use of the vehicle by maintaining daily logs, monitoring gas consumption, and preparing maintenance reports.
Conduct day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, ensuring it is clean and in good working condition, and arranging for repairs as necessary.
Maintain all required documents and supplies in the vehicle, including insurance, vehicle logs, and a first aid kit.
Provide general administrative and logistic support, assisting office staff with filing, photocopying, and distribution of publications.
Perform other duties as necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and organization.
Required Qualifications: Completion of secondary education is required, along with a valid driver’s license. Candidates must possess excellent driving skills, a strong knowledge of driving rules and regulations, and the ability to perform minor vehicle repairs. A client-oriented approach and the ability to work with diverse individuals are essential.
Educational Background: The position requires the completion of secondary education. A valid driver’s license is also mandatory for this role.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy, or UN system, with a proven safe driving record. This experience is crucial to ensure the safety and reliability expected in this role.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for this position. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not mandatory.
