Job Overview:
The Project Coordinator will play a crucial role in the implementation of the Haya Karima initiative, which is a significant government effort in Egypt aimed at addressing multidimensional poverty. This initiative seeks to enhance social protection systems and extend coverage to vulnerable groups, particularly informal economy workers. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that project activities are executed in accordance with ILO policies and regulations, while also collaborating closely with various stakeholders, including government agencies, civil society, and development partners. The role requires a proactive approach to project management, including monitoring and evaluation, technical assistance, and capacity building for national partners. The Project Coordinator will also be involved in drafting project proposals, conducting research, and providing legal and policy advice to ensure effective implementation of social protection activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator will support the timely implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of project activities related to social protection. Key responsibilities include collaborating with ILO constituents and relevant organizations in Egypt, contributing to project development, conducting research, providing technical assistance to national partners, organizing training programs, and ensuring quality technical inputs. The Coordinator will maintain close cooperation with government, employers' and workers' organizations, prepare technical progress reports, and enhance project visibility at national and international levels. Additional duties may be assigned by the supervisor as needed.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree in social science, development studies, or a relevant field. They should have a strong understanding of social protection issues and experience working with government bodies and development partners. Familiarity with UN policies and procedures is advantageous. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

Educational Background:
A first-level university degree in social science, development studies, or a relevant field is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of social protection systems and development initiatives.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least three years of professional experience at the national level in social protection or a related field. Experience in the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects is highly desirable. Proven ability to work effectively with government bodies and development partners is essential, as is familiarity with UN policies and procedures.

Languages:
The position requires an excellent command of the English language and native proficiency in Arabic. These language skills are crucial for effective communication with stakeholders and for the preparation of reports and documentation related to the project.

This position is a fixed-term contract for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability and performance.
