Job Overview: The Multilingual Output Production Assistant plays a crucial role in the Department of Management (MT) at the IAEA, which serves as a platform of services to support the successful delivery of the agency's scientific and technical programs. Duties and Responsibilities: The Multilingual Output Production Assistant will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to: proofreading content in Chinese to ensure accuracy and consistency, archiving and disseminating finalized content, compiling and processing various documents such as Policy-Making Organs documents and publications, checking and formatting content for accurate presentation, aligning translated texts, transcribing statements, preparing files for translation software, and providing backup support. The assistant will also be expected to suggest improvements to work practices, participate in discussions for implementing new workflows, maintain the central terminology database, process large and complex documents, provide training and guidance to freelancers and other assistants, and assist in identifying software-related issues.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a minimum of five years of relevant working experience, particularly in proofreading and layout tasks. A perfect command of Chinese as a mother tongue or principal language of education is essential, along with advanced knowledge of English. Knowledge of other UN languages such as Arabic, French, Russian, or Spanish is considered an asset.
