Job Overview: The internship program at the IAEA is designed to provide students and recent graduates with practical work experience that aligns with their academic studies or professional interests. The intern will specifically support the outreach activities of the Technical Cooperation (TC) communication team, focusing on creating web articles and providing logistical support for various TC events. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks under the guidance of the Communication Advisor and the TC Communication Team. Key responsibilities include: conducting research and drafting web articles and social media posts related to TC activities; preparing visual content such as photo carousels and e-postcards for social media using tools like Canva; assisting in the organization of TC exhibitions and side events, including digital events; supporting the TC Communication Team in delivering communication services to TC Divisions, which includes analyzing outreach efforts and completing photography assignments; collecting and filing TC photographs; and providing additional support as required by the team.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in public information, communication, journalism, English, or related fields. They should be excellent writers with a strong understanding of social media platforms. Some experience in photography, document layout, and design is preferred, with familiarity in software such as InDesign or Photoshop considered an advantage. A solid command of written and spoken English is essential, and knowledge of one other official IAEA language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is desirable.
Educational Background: Candidates must be at least 20 years old and have completed a minimum of three years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards their first degree. They may apply up to one year after completing a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate degree. It is important to note that candidates must not have previously participated in the IAEA's internship program.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have some relevant experience, particularly in writing, social media engagement, and event support. While specific years of experience are not mandated, familiarity with the responsibilities outlined in the job description will be beneficial for applicants.
Languages: A good command of written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, fluency in any other official IAEA language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, or Russian) is considered an asset and will enhance a candidate's application.
