Job Overview:
The Consultant position at UNICEF involves providing specialized expertise and support in various areas related to child welfare and protection. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Consultant include but are not limited to: conducting thorough assessments of child welfare programs, developing and implementing strategies to enhance program effectiveness, collaborating with various stakeholders including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, providing technical assistance and guidance to UNICEF staff and partners, preparing detailed reports and documentation of findings and recommendations, ensuring compliance with UNICEF's policies and standards, participating in training and capacity-building initiatives, and contributing to the development of communication materials that promote child rights and welfare. The consultant will also be responsible for managing their own administrative tasks, including financial management related to their consultancy, and ensuring that all deliverables are met within the specified timelines.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong set of qualifications to be considered for the Consultant position. This includes a proven track record of working in child welfare or related fields, with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable children. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and have the capacity to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Experience:

Previous consultancy experience is a plus, as is experience working in international settings or with UN agencies.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory for this position, given the location and the target population. Proficiency in English is also required, as it is essential for communication with international teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly indigenous languages or other local dialects, would be considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's profile.

The Consultant position is a consultancy role and does not confer staff status within UNICEF. As such, consultants are not entitled to benefits typically provided to staff members, such as health insurance or paid leave. The terms of service will be governed by the consultancy contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for Individual Consultants and Contractors. Consultants are responsible for their own tax obligations and must ensure that they have the necessary visa and health insurance for the duration of their contract. Selected candidates will be required to confirm their full vaccination status against COVID-19 with a WHO-approved vaccine, unless they are working remotely and will not be interacting directly with UNICEF facilities or communities.
