Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer Expert for Digital Communication Strategy will play a crucial role in enhancing the visibility and engagement of the Brazil Climate and Ecological Transformation Investment Platform (BIP). This position involves developing and implementing a comprehensive digital communication strategy that aligns with the institutional communication plan. The expert will focus on strengthening the Platform's online presence, ensuring consistency across digital channels, and producing high-quality multimedia content. The role requires a proactive approach to engage key audiences through data-driven communication actions, thereby contributing to the overall mission of promoting Brazil's ecological transition and climate finance initiatives. The expert will work closely with Programme Officers and the BIP Secretariat to ensure effective communication and outreach efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the UN Volunteer Expert include:

• Developing and implementing a digital communication plan for the BIP Platform, defining key messages, target audiences, and performance indicators.
• Ensuring coherence between digital actions and the broader institutional communication strategy.
• Managing and updating the Platform's social media channels, particularly LinkedIn, with relevant and engaging content.
• Monitoring and analyzing digital performance metrics to support evidence-based decision-making.
• Identifying opportunities for digital visibility through partnerships and campaigns.
• Producing and editing multimedia materials for digital dissemination, including text, photos, videos, and infographics.
• Drafting and adapting content from technical materials into accessible language for online audiences.
• Capturing photo and video content at events for digital publication.
• Regularly updating the BIP website with accurate and visually consistent information. 1
• Collaborating with developers to improve user experience and accessibility of the BIP website. 1
• Contributing to the design and content development of a new digital interface for the Platform. 1
• Managing mailing lists and ensuring effective dissemination of newsletters and updates. 1
• Supporting the planning and coverage of BIP events, including producing digital materials for dissemination. 1
• Assisting with protocol coordination and digital logistics related to communication during events.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires a strong background in digital communication, marketing, or a related field. Candidates should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner. Proficiency in multimedia production, including video editing and graphic design, is essential. Familiarity with social media management and digital analytics tools is also required. The ideal candidate should demonstrate creativity, adaptability, and a strong understanding of the principles of effective communication in a development context. Experience working with international organizations or in the field of climate change and sustainability is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. A master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred but not mandatory. Additional certifications in digital marketing or communication strategies will be considered an asset.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2-3 years of professional experience in digital communication, marketing, or a related area. Experience in developing and implementing communication strategies, managing social media channels, and producing multimedia content is essential. Familiarity with the UN system and knowledge of climate change and sustainable development issues will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in Portuguese is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Brazil. Proficiency in English is also required, as it is often used in international contexts. Knowledge of Spanish or other languages will be considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The position is full-time, and the UN Volunteer will be part of the malicious insurance plan. Compliance with United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS) procedures is mandatory during the assignment.
