Job Overview:
The Associate, Portfolio Management EMEA position is designed for a junior financial markets professional who will work under the supervision of the Director or Associate Director. The primary responsibility of this role is to assist in developing the Bank's local currency financing capacity and managing financial risks associated with designated currencies. This includes a focus on managing market and structural risks in foreign exchange (FX) and interest rates, as well as liquidity and funding exposures. The role is particularly crucial in underdeveloped local currency markets, where the Associate will help expand the Bank's capacity to manage local currency market risks and offer products that meet client demand. The Associate will also provide specialized financial guidance on loan and bond features that the Bank can offer in various local currencies, thereby enhancing the Bank's service offerings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate, Portfolio Management EMEA will perform a variety of duties under the guidance of senior team members. Key responsibilities include managing liquidity to support local currency lending activities, which involves understanding and mitigating both market and liquidity risks. The Associate will define, design, and improve local currency loan and bond features to align with market demand. They will also develop frameworks for managing local currency market risks and engage in policy dialogue with domestic authorities to enhance product offerings. Additionally, the Associate will analyze risks associated with cash management, prepare daily and ad-hoc reports, and track relevant market developments. They will assist in negotiating legal agreements necessary for accessing domestic markets and will work to build relationships with both international and domestic market counterparties, as well as internal departments to facilitate business operations.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Associate position should possess prior experience in financial markets, ideally within a major financial institution. A solid understanding of interest rate and FX markets, including their dynamics and inter-linkages, is essential. Familiarity with relevant financial products such as vanilla interest rate derivatives, FX instruments, repos, and the trade life cycle is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret macroeconomic and financial information are crucial. Experience in securing donor funding and managing technical cooperation projects is a plus. Proficiency in relevant systems such as Bloomberg, Excel (including some VBA), Summit, Reuters dealing, Eikon, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree is required for this position, while a Master’s degree is desirable but not mandatory. The educational background should ideally be in finance, economics, or a related field that provides a strong foundation for understanding financial markets and instruments.

Experience:
The ideal candidate should have prior experience in financial markets, which can be gained through roles in trading, execution, or treasury functions. This experience should provide a solid understanding of market dynamics and risk management practices relevant to the position.

Languages:
Strong proficiency in English is mandatory, with reading, writing, and comprehension skills required. Additionally, proficiency in Russian is also required, as it will be essential for communication and understanding in the context of the Bank's operations in EMEA.
