Job Overview:
The Project Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the project aimed at enhancing climate governance in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This position involves a variety of administrative processes to ensure high-quality work and effective service delivery. The Project Assistant will work closely with the Project Manager and the project team to coordinate activities, maintain stakeholder relationships, and assist in the planning and execution of project events and trainings. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure that project objectives are met efficiently and effectively, with a focus on integrating gender equality into all aspects of project implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Assistant will be responsible for providing overall technical, administrative, and logistical support to the project implementation. This includes assisting the Project Manager with technical and operational activities, participating in the planning and execution of project activities, coordinating field activities, maintaining stakeholder contacts, organizing meetings, and ensuring follow-up. The Project Assistant will also support the project team in implementing business processes, including organizing translation services, maintaining project archives, and ensuring compliance with UNDP rules and regulations. Additionally, the role involves supporting gender equality mainstreaming in project activities, documenting lessons learned, and participating in knowledge management initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of secondary education, with a university degree in Public Administration, Law, Economics, or a related field being advantageous. Relevant work experience is essential, with a minimum of 5 years required for those with secondary education or 2 years for those with a bachelor's degree. Proficiency in computer usage and office software is necessary, along with experience in project support and stakeholder communication. Desired skills include experience in international settings, technical and operational support, and prior UN experience.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes at least secondary education, with a preference for candidates holding a bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as Public Administration, Law, or Economics. This educational foundation is important for understanding the complexities of project management and administrative processes within the UNDP framework.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience for candidates with secondary education or 2 years for those with a bachelor's degree. This experience should be in administrative or project support roles at either the national or international level, demonstrating the ability to manage project-related tasks effectively and efficiently.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, along with proficiency in one of the national languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This linguistic capability is essential for effective communication with stakeholders and for the successful implementation of project activities.
