Job Overview: The position involves a range of responsibilities aimed at supporting the organization's mission in Gaza. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with local communities, assess their needs, and implement programs that align with the organization's goals. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community leaders. The candidate will also be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of programs, ensuring that they meet the established objectives and contribute to the overall mission of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct needs assessments and community consultations to identify priority areas for intervention.
Develop and implement project plans in collaboration with local partners and stakeholders.
Monitor and evaluate project progress, collecting data and reporting on outcomes.
Facilitate training and capacity-building workshops for community members and local organizations.
Prepare and submit regular reports to management and funding agencies.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures, as well as donor requirements.
Represent the organization at meetings and events, advocating for the needs of the community.
Collaborate with other team members to share best practices and lessons learned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. A demonstrated commitment to humanitarian principles and a passion for community development are essential. Proficiency in project management and experience in working with vulnerable populations are highly desirable. Candidates should also have strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in social sciences, international development, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be advantageous for candidates applying for more senior roles within the organization.
Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in project management, community development, or a related field is required. Experience working in conflict-affected areas or with displaced populations is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully implementing projects and achieving measurable outcomes.
Languages: Fluency in Arabic is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages spoken in the region would be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and may require occasional travel within the region.
