Job Overview: The Workforce Project Manager is responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and completion of all activities related to a new workforce initiative based in Phoenix. This role is pivotal in overseeing the integration of workforce development services across various system partners, ensuring that service delivery is high-quality and client-centered, in alignment with both federal and local standards. The position requires effective management of department staff to ensure compliance with program requirements, and it emphasizes the importance of fostering a culture of equity, dignity, and results within the organization. The Workforce Project Manager will lead daily operations, manage the program budget, and continuously improve referral systems in collaboration with partners, making this role crucial for the success of the workforce initiative.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Workforce Project Manager include, but are not limited to: serving as the primary point of contact for the workforce initiative, ensuring the integration of workforce development services across partners; leading daily operations to meet contractual and program deliverables; managing the program budget and monitoring expenses; overseeing and improving a robust referral system; supervising the Customer Service Supervisor and Specialists to ensure adequate staffing and high-quality customer service; providing coaching and professional development for team members; participating in internal leadership teams and working groups; building and maintaining relationships with key system partners and local educational institutions; convening regular partner meetings; representing the program in board meetings; monitoring program metrics to guide improvement efforts; ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations; providing timely reports to donors; leading daily huddles and check-ins; representing the program at community events; promoting the program by documenting success stories; and leading outreach efforts to community stakeholders.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Workforce Project Manager position include a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as social work, public administration, workforce development, or social services. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in workforce development, program management, or human services leadership. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate the ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects the IRC’s core values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Strong relationship-building, diplomacy, and networking skills are essential, as well as the ability to communicate effectively in diverse global environments. Candidates should be self-starters with excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. A valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle are also required, along with proven experience in supervising staff and fostering a culture of collaboration and inclusion.

Additional Notes: The Workforce Project Manager position is a full-time role that may involve a combination of standard office work, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area. The standard work week may include occasional evenings or weekends for community events or partner meetings. Travel within Maricopa County for partner site visits and events is required, with occasional domestic travel up to 10%.
