The project addresses challenges such as inadequate electricity grids and supply bottlenecks that hinder the expansion of renewable energy sources like solar and wind. The intern will work closely with India's Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, providing advice on the use of wind turbines and rooftop photovoltaics, as well as modernizing older systems. The role involves supporting local solar supply chains, advising on necessary reforms, and promoting women's participation in renewable energy sectors to address the skilled labor shortage. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for facilitating exchanges and cooperation with project partners and stakeholders in both Germany and India. The intern will assist in preparing contracts and budgets, as well as organizing dialogue events and workshops with partner countries and institutions. Additional responsibilities include providing content-related support for specialist events, planning and executing project initiation trips in Germany, and managing everyday project tasks such as preparing and following up on internal meetings. The intern will also contribute to public relations efforts, including project reports to commissioning authorities, final reports, and external communications such as infographics and studies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates should have a completed bachelor's degree or be currently enrolled in a master's program in fields such as engineering, geosciences, political sciences, social sciences, environmental sciences, communication sciences, or international relations. Knowledge of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects is desirable. Initial professional experience in project/event management and public relations is also preferred. Experience in GIZ's partner countries and the ability to work in an intercultural environment will be advantageous.
