Social Media and Web Consultant Background of this search: The Inter-American Development (IDB) Group is the leading source of Development Finance for Latin America and the Caribbean. The team’s mission: The Communications Division (DCC) of the Knowledge, Innovation and Communications Sector (KIC) uses digital intelligence, data and creativity to help position the IDB Group as the preferred partner for development in the region. DCC works with media, email and social media channels to help give visibility to stories of impact in the region. The objective of the consultancy is that DCC is seeking a motivated and passionate bilingual social media and content marketing consultant to manage IDB Lab social Media Platforms and digital campaigns in English and Spanish. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Communications Business Partner for IDB Lab in KIC/DCC to create, edit and plan content published on IDB Lab’s social media channels, ensuring consistency and accuracy of information, helping build and strengthen the IDB Lab’s corporate image. The consultant will also liaise with the IDB’s social media team to leverage the Bank’s Social Media Platforms, as well as monitor conversations and respond to queries. Additionally, the consultant will Design and execute digital campaigns to promote IDB Lab’s knowledge products, corporate announcements and events. What you’ll do:
  • Translate business objectives into social and content strategies and campaigns to deliver business impact

  • Act as program manager for social media processes and work streams

  • Plan and execute a social media and content marketing strategy that may include a paid component

  • Drive campaign development that engages target audiences

  • Create and edit content in English and Spanish for social media corporate channels including, but not limited to, LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter. Monitor and analyze performance indicators for our social media metrics in Social Studio.

  • Manage workflow with designers and producers to develop artwork and multimedia content for social media.

  • Follow provided impact indicators, prepare reports and make presentations if needed regarding the performance of the IDB Lab social media channels

  • Manage a social media content calendar in Coordination with multiple IDB Lab specialist

  • Conduct social media trainings for employee advocacy to IDB Lab employees as needed

  • Develop Digital Marketing campaigns to promote IDB Lab’s knowledge products and events. This includes developing a campaign plan, creating and editing digital content, implementing and reporting on performance.

  • Help with maintaining and creating content for the IDB Lab website.

  • Help with curate, create and edit written communication material like brochures, both in English and Spanish.

What you’ll need:
  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in journalism, marketing, communications, business, or other related field preferred.

  • Experience: at least four years of relevant experience.

  • Language: Perfect command of English and Spanish (Portuguese proficiency is also desirable).

Core and Technical Competencies:
  • Excellent writing and editing.

  • Online community management experience and knowledge about industry best practices.

  • Solid understanding of current industry standards and techniques for digital content creation required.

  • In-depth understanding of private sector and multilaterals in Latin America and the Caribbean.

  • Reporting, writing, editing, and translation skills.

  • Superior attention to detail.

  • Ability to think critically and creatively, and express ideas effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Strong teamwork orientation and effective communication skills.

  • Breadth of awareness.

  • Experience with Salesforce, Social studio or similar scheduling and measurement tool.
