Summary The Grants and Contracts Team (GCS) team is part of the operations division and partners with colleagues from across the foundation in the development and execution of well-crafted grants and contracts. GCS is flexible and agile in our support structure to manage workload ​variability and apply a right-sized approach to investment making and management.  Sr. Specialists are part of a centralized service processing a large volume of transactions including standard grants and contracts, payments, and closures.  This Sr. Specialist roles manages standard grant and contract investment tasks, with an emphasis on attention to detail and process consistency.  This role contributes to the collective success of the GCS team by actively engaging as a team member, collaborating across GCS, contributing to special projects, and proactively identifying areas for continuous improvement. Core Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality customer service to investment partners from across the foundation.

  • Maintain consistent approach to managing work across multiple teams.

  • Conduct initial due diligence for grants and contracts.

  • Draft a high volume of standard grant/contract agreements (based on templates provided by Legal).

  • Review contracts to determine level of complexity and draft or assign accordingly.

  • Responsible for GCS investment tasks related to ongoing management of active investments (e.g., payments, amendments and updating due diligence).

  • Serve as a collaborative member of one of the GCS Business Teams responsible for business operations.

  • Contribute to special projects as requested.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s Or other advanced degree with 2+ years of experience, Or equivalent experience. *Applicants for this role will only be considered if they possess current US Work Authorization, and do not require employer-sponsored VISA support to begin or remain in this role. **Our strong preference is to identify and interview candidates currently residing in the greater Seattle metro region.
