Job Description

The Human Resources Department (HRD) is looking for a Senior HR Officer (Workday). S/he will be a member of the HCM Cloud Support team and will be responsible for the execution of administrative processes and maintenance duties of all Workday HRIS applications. This is a key position in a new team introducing leading edge technologies to support the organization’s transformation into a new HR Service Delivery Model. Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the functional and technical point of contact for HR business subject matter experts, HR administrators and IT contacts for Workday and HR issues.

  • Manage Workday HCM platform, tenant configurations, related data integrations, security configurations, security compliance; configure Business Process and Domain Security Policies, create and manage Security Groups, investigate role assignment and configuration issues.

  • Configure system fixes/enhancements in production. Develop processes for ongoing support tickets. Lead the troubleshooting process to understand errors encountered by end-users. Maintain system stability and resolve high impact issues.

  • Lead development and maintenance of integrations Workday and other applications.

  • Create/generate Workday reports and configuring the Workday business process steps.

  • Create roadmaps and timing the release upgrades and maintenance for the development environment. Manage testing and documentation for weekly and semi-annual releases and enhancements/initiatives and reporting; utilize Workday Community to research and network with other users to brainstorm system solution. Actively research for new enhancements and releases in Workday.

  • Create and manage Workday tenant strategy.

  • Coordinate with IT and other stakeholders and manage an end to end HCM business solution tenant strategy.

  • Prepare the Change Management documentation, documenting policies and procedures for all Workday support tasks.

  • Partner with cross-functional HR and technology teams to lead Workday system related projects, including system releases/upgrades, enhancement packages, and process redesign

  • Advise HR teams, including subject matter experts and leadership on HR technology requests.

  • Manage the system process flow maps.

  • Facilitate configuration evaluation and review with administrators to ensure consistency, efficient use of each Workday module, and innovative use of technology.

  • Conduct and facilitate Workday systems testing, identifying discrepancies and formulating a remediation plan.

  • Serve as a partner across finance, HR, technology, and other key stakeholders to document, test, and remediate compliance related matters.

  • Enforce Service Management requirements related to documentation of workday related configuration or data integration changes along with other required artifacts in alignment with IT Service Management policies.

  • Manage and facilitate internal and external audit activities.


  • A Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Human Resources, IT or related field, plus a minimum of eight years of relevant professional work experience, or Bachelor’s degree plus fourteen years of relevant professional work experience.

  • Subject Matter Expertise across the full Workday HCM Suite performing duties to include:
    • EIB configuration

    • HCM

    • Custom business process configuration and maintenance for all modules

    • Security

  • Advanced report writing skills

  • Completion of Workday HCM training

  • Excellent communication skills and relationship building

  • Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment

  • Success working in a changing  environment with limited information as the Subject Matter Expert for all things Workday

  • Collaborative approach across functional area leadership, Executive Directors, and corporate office employees

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to fully drive initiatives to completion

  • Solution-oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated with the ability to train and mentor staff on Workday functionality.

  • Ability to manage a team of Workday resources and plan day-to-day operations

Required Experience:
  • 3 years of Workday experience supporting post go live operations.

  • 2 years' experience as a Workday HRIS Analyst with direct responsibilities in Core HCM, On-boarding, Recruiting, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Performance, Talent, Absence and Workforce planning

  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with the highest discretion

  • Excellent analytical skills.
