The Investment Operations Department is responsible for generating a portfolio of high quality, creditworthy, and environmentally and socially sound projects that result in significant development impact. The business cycle goes from the identification, selection, origination and execution of transactions to their monitoring. The Department follows a matrix model, with three Segment divisions covering industries in Infrastructure and Energy, Financial Institutions and Corporates, and three transversal areas such as the Financial Products and Services Division, the Advisory Services Division and the Portfolio Management Division.The Team
The Financial Products and Services Division works closely with the Segment divisions to provide product-structuring expertise in the following broad range of products and services: blended finance, capital markets solutions, equity and mezzanine, trade and supply chain finance and resource mobilization. The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Head of the Resource Mobilization team.
What you’ll do:
The consultant’s main responsibilities include:
- In conjunction with the senior officers, closely follow transactions in the loan syndications and capital markets in order to spot trends that could affect those relevant markets in the covered region.
- Assist in the collection of market data for the preparation of pricing analyses based on comparable transactions in the bank and capital markets.
- Assist in the performance of market soundings of the investor universe.
- Support the senior officers in the preparation of presentations on current market conditions and other department promotional material by sourcing data form Bloomberg or other market data platforms.
- Prepare information memoranda, deal teasers, bank meeting presentations and documentation for allocated transactions.
- Ensure that the data warehouse for the Resource Mobilization team is up-to-date and respond to data requests in a timely manner.
What you’ll need:
Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
Education: You hold at least a bachelor’s degree (Master’s, MBA or equivalent preferred) in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, International Development or other relevant field.
Experience: At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience at a financial institution, corporation, investment fund, multilateral development bank or other private sector entity is required.Languages: You are fluent (oral and written) in English and Spanish.
