10. Description of tasks:
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Engineer (CE) the duties of the Project Manager (engineer) will include but are not limited to the following:
Developing and maintaining project plans.
Managing the production of the required constructions, taking responsibility for overall progress and use of resources and initiating corrective action where necessary.
Managing the contracts involved in the different phases of the project
Monitoring the overall project progress and the project schedule and reports any delays to CE and Project Board.
Identifying and managing risks in order to achieve the maximum benefit for the stakeholders and final users.
Monitoring and evaluating performance contractor, subcontractors and other of service and product providers.
Managing the information flows between the different stakeholders and other agents involved in the stages of the project.
Advising the stakeholders on issues that may impact the achievement of their outcomes
Implement audit procedures within engineering section and the projects managed and liaise withaudits from other sections.
Any other duties as requested by the supervisor.
Advanced University Degree (Master's or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Architectural, or other relevant discipline.60 Months
At least 5 year experience in project development and management of construction projects.

Advanced University Degree (Master's or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Architectural, or other relevant discipline.
An additional 2 years of relevant work experience in combination with a relevant first university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) may substitute for the requirement for a Master’s degree.
Good understanding of the project phases from project set-up through Design, Bidding, construction and project close-out is required.
Knowledge of architectural, engineering and construction principles and practices.
Experience in managing construction projects in the international field is required.
Experience in monitoring, reporting, development and Coordination in either public or private sector organizations is an asset.
Certification in Prince 2 is an asset.
Experience in project and team management and skills development.
Experience in the East and Central Africa Region is desirable.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations/MONUSCO. Fluency in oral and written English is mandatory; French is an advantage
