  • Provide Technical Support to Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) programs to secure that treatment plans/mass drug Administration (MDA) and disease specific assessments (DSA) are planned and executed per WHO guidelines and best practices;

  • Support the development and implementation of Schistosomiasis/ Soil-Transmitted Helminths (SCH/STH) and Guinea worm elimination plans;

  • Provide technical support to NTD Programs for a sound and timely execution of MDAs and DSAs.

  • Assist MOHs in the execution of periodical Programs Quality Improvements (PQI) to increase project effectiveness and efficiency;

  • Assist NTDs Programs to develop accurate projections for drugs need and timely submission of joint reporting forms to WHO for drugs application;

  • Liaise with CDC, WHO, Task Force for Global Health, and other relevant actors to develop epidemiologically sound post-validation surveillance approaches and platforms and work with Ministries of Health (MOHs) to pilot these approaches using available platforms;

  • Maintain a constructive dialogue and technical exchange with field counterparts and staff of relevant partners;

  • Develop tools for the Design and implementation of specific technical components;

  • Collaborate with MOHs to review, analyze, and evaluate the effectiveness of programs/projects, and make recommendations for enhancements;

  • Represent FHI 360 at professional meetings and conferences; and

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with donor/client organizations, relevant government agencies, bilateral and other NGOs, and be consistently viewed as a knowledgeable resource in associated technical area.

Experience:
  • 8-11 years of experience in the implementation of NTD programs.

  • At least 5 years of experience in overseeing NTDs elimination projects, in setting realistic priorities, and planning for the successful implementation of activities.  Experience in the implementation of SCH/STH and Guinea worm elimination programs is a priority.

  • Experience working in developing countries.

  • Should have written and published materials related to the technical area, e.g., journal articles, job aids, training curricula, and other tools.

  • Fluency in French, Spanish, or Portuguese is a plus

Education: Master’s Degree or its International Equivalent in Public Health, Medicine, or Related Field; PhD preferred. ** Or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience sufficient to successfully perform the key responsibilities of the job. Technology to be Used: Personal Computer, Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), e-mail, telephone, printer, calculator, copier, cell phones, PDAs and other hand-held devices. Travel Requirements: 25% to 50% Typical Physical Demands:
  • Typical office environment.

  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to lift 5-25 lbs.
