Job Description

Job Summary In this role, you will support the core communications team in developing new videos for all digital platforms, working to research footage, storyboard scripts, coordinate production and editing, and provide other logistical support. Many of these videos will be short 1-3 minute animations aimed at Social Media, with the possibility of shooting more live footage in the future. To be a successful candidate, you will be highly experienced with the creation of motion graphics and video production, and be a creative and strong writer. Candidates with an interest in environmental issues and/or international development are desirable. This position is part of the Core Communications team, working closely with the Video Production Specialist and reporting to the Creative Director. This is a full time, two-year limited term position with the possibility for extension based on funding and performance. Job Responsibilities
  • Illustrate and animate motion graphics, edit and produce video for social media and other platforms

  • Gain experience with a professional video production workflow, from script pitching all the way through publishing

  • Help plan and shoot live-action video, including lighting and camera setup, interviewing, post-production and editing

  • Work with outside vendors to produce videos and other assets

  • Work on the internal communications team and interact with internal clients in different programs, centers and international offices

  • Gain exposure to one of the leading global research organizations with a focus on the environment and international development

Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in video production or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years of full-time equivalent relevant experience with Adobe After Effects, Premiere and/or Apple Final Cut Pro

  • Professional experience working on video projects, with an understanding of video production and editing

  • Creativity and a strong visual sense

  • Highly organized and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

  • US work authorization is required for this opportunity.
