UNRWA, the largest United Nations operation in the Middle East with over 30,000 staff working across five areas of operation, is looking for highly committed senior female professionals wishing to make a change. One of the specific measures UNRWA has adopted to achieve parity is the establishment of Senior Area Female Talent Pools from Grade 16 to Grade 20 levels, to ensure a pipeline of qualified female professionals for both programmatic and support areas from middle to senior management. How do Senior Female Talent Pools work? The Senior Female Talent Pools are open year-round to enable professionals to express their interest in employment with UNRWA in a particular domain. The expressions of interest received will be reviewed regularly by our recruiters with a view to:  Contacting qualified professionals regarding vacancies that match their profile  Augmenting shortlists for advertised vacancies where there is an insufficient number of qualified female candidates  Sourcing candidates for a second selection exercise where a regular recruitment process has not filled an advertised vacancy  Sourcing candidates for temporary opportunities   Do you want to make a lasting difference? The mission of Information Management and Technology Department (IMTD) is to provide world-class Information Management and Technology Services to the agency and its beneficiaries through secure, innovative, impactful, efficient and cost-effective solutions. IMTD is a strategic enabler of UNRWA’s programmes in Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, West Bank and Gaza. With over 35,000 staff members serving over 5 million Palestine refugees, the Agency’s programmes deliver direct services to the refugees in the areas of education, health, relief and social service, infrastructure and camp improvement, and microfinance services. IMD is always at the forefront when it comes to introducing innovative business solutions that impact the organization’s overall value chain even as it embarks towards a future ready state that is defined by the SMART Enterprise Strategic Framework. To qualify for this position, you will need: Education An advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in computer science or business Administration, with emphasis on computer-related studies and/or information technology, information management; a first-level university degree in combination with three additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree; Formal training in project management techniques; Work experience Between 7 to 10 years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in infrastructure, Database management, or business analysis, and applications development and implementation including at least three years at a senior level managing large application development projects; Knowledge/experience in the automation of one or more of the following areas: population registration, relief services, payroll and Human Resource Management Systems, education, health, Accounting and financial information systems (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting and Forecasting, microfinance and ERP systems; Thorough knowledge and proven hands-on experience in web projects involving multi-tier application development, object-oriented design and programming and utilizing .Net tools over major Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), preferably MS SQL; Experience in the use of a standard Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, project management tools and techniques in addition to using standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project; ERP, REACH SAP; specific business experience might be required depending on the placement of the post and the functional area required; Language(s) Excellent command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
