Location - London but we welcome applications from people based in the Middle East, Africa, Brazil and Argentina. As the team is largely based in London, any other timezones may be impractical. The role could be home based. ABOUT THE ROLE Amnesty International is looking for a new head of digital engagement to take us to our next stage of growing, connecting and activating audiences to help drive forward the positive change that people across the world are demanding. This is an enviable role. You’ll have a large span of control over audience experience with a talented team which does social Media Management, digital campaigning, supporter engagement, paid Marketing, data Analysis, User Experience, and web development. With them, you will deliver meaningful experiences and build community with audiences across Owned, Shared, Earned and Paid media channels. These will deliver Human Rights change and drive forward Amnesty’s growth through increasing numbers of supporters, members and donors. ABOUT YOU To do this, you’ll need to have a track record in leading a team of at least 5 people towards delivering successful and impactful work. You’ll be able to show how you have innovated in meeting big external challenges, particularly in growing and connecting communities. You’ll be able to work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver upon common strategies. LOCATION This year’s lockdowns have shown us that office life was not as important as we thought. Amnesty is a global organisation and we spend a lot of time interacting with colleagues in different worldwide offices. We are also committed to increasing our staff base in the global south. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES * Implement an omnichannel strategy for growth marketing * Develop and lead a team to plan, optimise, implement and manage marketing strategies for digital channels with target markets * Work closely with the Brand Strategy team to equip Digital Engagement team with audience insights that will inform the Design, implementation and monitoring of a Digital Marketing strategy focused on audience engagement, community, and supporter/member recruitment. * Collaborate and uphold the Strategic Planning processes (Reactive and Briefed) as a member of the Marketing & Communications management team. * Work with the Fundraising team to ensure that income opportunities are maximised. * Manage a mid-tier digital marketing budget and pitch for additional funding internally or with external funding organisations. * Oversee all aspects of the audience experience journey. This includes initial engagement, taking action, maintaining community and membership/donation. * Manage development and maintenance of the international secretariat website and future platforms. Offer web development services to sections * Ensure our technical infrastructure for growth is fit for purpose, working closely with our I&T programme. Procure and maintain tools that serve the movement’s distribution and community building needs * Act as a thought leader in the organisation, providing innovative ways to engage and grow, connect and activate our supporters, members and donors.
