Job Description

Facilities Operations Maintenance and Project Manager (Corporate Services Senior Associate) Background: The Budget and Administrative Services Department (BDA) is responsible for providing, through the Administrative Services Division (BDA/ACP), a broad array of administrative services both at Headquarters and the Country Offices, including real estate management, corporate travel management, records management, corporate security and other institutional support services. We also provide corporate procurement services and information on performance and budget allocation to Senior Management and the Board of Executive Directors through our Budget and Corporate Procurement Division (BDA/BGT). The team: Within the ACP Division, the Administration of Corporate Real Estate Unit (ACP/ACR) is responsible for managing the Bank's Headquarters and Country Office buildings and office space; providing appropriate workplaces for personnel; and operating and maintaining all facilities. Management of the IDB's facilities is divided into two main areas: - Planning, Design, and Construction - Operations and Maintenance The Operations and Maintenance Program for Headquarters consists of oversight, technical analyses, planning and reporting related to facilities equipment, maintenance and repair, as well as the provision of client services; strategic planning and development of the capital improvement program and Business Continuity plan; and management and execution of capital improvement projects. What you will do:
  • Participate in the daily oversight of Headquarters facilities operations including critical life safety and utility systems, client services, and preventive maintenance. Contribute to the evaluation of service delivery, support the allocation of contractor resources, and analyze the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the overall operations and maintenance program. Support 24/7 emergency response to business continuity and mission critical functions impacting the Headquarters buildings.

  • Contribute to periodic facility condition assessments, audits, and studies necessary to support the development and justification of a capital improvement program designed to preserve and upgrade the asset value of Bank facilities and address critical infrastructure requirements in a proactive manner. Support ongoing business continuity and disaster recovery planning efforts including updates to plan documents and participation in exercises.

  • Establish project objectives and lead Design Development efforts for Headquarters capital projects. Oversee the preparation of construction documents and ensure they meet project requirements, applicable building codes, and Bank standards. Participate in the bidding process and manage construction implementation including communication with stakeholders, adherence to project schedule and budget, quality control monitoring, preparation of timely and accurate reports, and initiation of corrective action to ensure effective project execution.

  • Support the harmonization of Headquarters and Country Office operations and maintenance processes, strategies, and programs. Conduct research and analyses of facilities issues, identify best practices, and make recommendations to improve and promote efficiency and effectiveness.

What you will need: Education: You hold a Master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Project Management, Architecture, or another relevant field. Experience: You have at least 5 years of work experience related to the responsibilities of the position. You can demonstrate strong expertise in Facilities Management, building systems and technology, and project management. You also have experience working with multilateral organizations and the Latin America and Caribbean region. Languages: You are proficient in English (oral and written), with knowledge of another Bank official language (Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese), preferably Spanish.
