Responsibilities The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a International Product Specialist in our deparment Emergency Cardiovascular Care department based out of our National Center office located in Dallas, TX! The International Product Specialist is responsible for leading localization projects and assisting in the development of foreign-language products and courses for overseas and U.S markets. The Product Specialist provides direction for localization and quality standards through (1) leading localization projects from start to finish, (2) working closely with Project Management, development teams, external vendors, and volunteers (3) performing quality assurance and validation of content and deliverables received from vendors and other team members (4) fiscal awareness and adherence to project budgets, and (5) ongoing evaluation to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Partner with project management, project stakeholders, vendors, and internal resources to develop project scope and timelines for language-specific projects

  • Work with teams to adapt material to meet high linguistic quality and cultural requirements while maintaining the integrity and intent of the source content

  • Ensure that materials meet standards for accuracy before publication, editorial and production reviews; identify and solve localization issues by performing corrective/preventative action

  • Triage and review localization recommendations from subject matter experts assigned to project

  • Collaborate with Science & Medicine Advisors, designated foreign scientific authority, and the core product team to achieve signoff of project localizations

  • Prepare and process contracts, purchase orders, check requisitions, consultant and vendor invoices and payments, coding of disbursements, maintaining invoice and financial tracking

  • Manage Review Commission Documentation: contact information, contracts, and certificate of insurance (COI)

  • Coordinate Logistics for large cross-functional meetings and teleconferences

  • Coordinate shipping and mailing for materials in development, meetings, and release of published materials

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Six (6) months - Two (2) years of relevent experience

  • Project management and ability to meet established timelines

  • Advanced Office Tools skills (Word, Excel, Adobe Professional, PowerPoint)

  • Skilled in identifying inconsistencies or discrepancies in data or other information.

  • Ability to collaborate and lead project resrouces (editors, vendors, contractors, volunteers)

  • Organizational Skills

  • Ability to travel up to 20% local and overnight stay

Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Vocational Trade Degree

  • Experience working in a multi-language/multi-cultural, or international environment

  • Foreign-language facility or fluency highly desired

  • Knowledge of linguistic and translation concepts and tools (localization, Translation Memory)

  • Knowledge of resuscitation/cardiovascular care concepts, healthcare systems, Public Health Promotion, healthcare background a plus

  • Editorial and Production Reviews

  • Foreign language facility or fluency a plus but not required: general understanding of the language and ability to communicate
