Job Description

  Minimum age: 22 years old. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment. Under the direct supervision of the Coordination Officer Data, Results, and Reporting the incumbent will undertake the following tasks:
  • Support in coordinating the work of the Covid-19 SER and SPRP Results Frameworks so that they are coherently incorporated into the UNSDCF results framework.

  • Assist in monitoring and updating UN Joint Work Plans of UNCT members to ensure they incorporate all UN activities related to the COVID-19 response.

  • Gather information and prepare regular and ad-hoc high-quality information products related to the UNCT’s COVID-19 response.

  • Participate in the evaluation of funding received for the COVID-19 programmes, including from the Secretary General’s Special Purpose Multiparty Trust Fund for COVID-19.

  • Contribute to assessing funding proposals that are related to joint UN COVID-19 programmes.

  • Contribute to development of a resource mobilization strategy for UN joint programmes related to the COVID-19 response.

  • Gather data and produce the UN joint COVID-19 situation report, including producing GIS products on transmission trends.

  • RCO focal person for the COVID-19 Supply Chain working groups information management, including maintain up to date information what has been procured reporting on nay gaps.

  • Focal point for Business Continuity within the RCO to ensure a fully function operations during the pandemic.

Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • A degree from internationally reputable University in Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, Political Sciences or related field

24 Months Demonstrated interest and/or experience (2 years) at the national or international level in monitoring and evaluation of Development Projects. Knowledge about the UN and RC systems would be an advantage. Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based Management Systems, hands-on experience in Design.

Monitoring and evaluation, Resource mobilization, partnership and donor coordination Learning and development are a central part of the UN Volunteer’s assignment and take place before, during and after his or her assignment in the field. Ideally, offering diverse opportunities for learning and development aim to strengthen the volunteer’s skills and competences, improve the quality of the assignment and keep the volunteer’s motivation high. Learning elements for the UN Volunteer include the development of: Professional skills: including specific competencies and reflection on assignment-related abilities; and on- the-job skills such as time management, Problem Solving, team building; and career preparedness such as interview skills, CV preparation, job searching. Inter-personal skills: including communication and listening skills; multi-cultural awareness and cultural competency; and conflict and stress management. Volunteering-related skills: including leadership; civic responsibility; and engagement and active participation. Beyond the learning opportunities provided by UNV, the host agency will support knowledge and Capacity Development in the technical areas that are relevant to the UN Volunteer’s assignment.
