Job Description

PEC Consultancy for IT Local Support – Guyana Background: The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) consists of 25 country offices throughout Latin America and the Caribbean and two special offices in Asia and Europe. The ITE department has the need of a consultancy to provide IT Service while maintaining a reliable and efficient IT environment at the Country Office Representation (COF) in Guyana. The Team: The Information Technology Department (ITE) is compromised to facilitate the Bank’s mission to improve lives by delivering added value to the business, providing and maintaining a reliable and responsive IT environment in the IDB Country Office Representation (COF) in Guyana. What you’ll do: The services to be provided to the COF are classified for delivery purposes into two categories: regular and special. Regular services are the ones provided on an ongoing basis and governed by this standard of Service. Special services are offered on a project basis and are governed by addenda to this standard of Service. Deliveries:
  • User support – Comprising the required activities to support local and international staff, contractors, and staff on a mission in the use of workstations including computers, telecommunication devices, and software tools. In addition, limited support to visitors using their equipment inside the country office.

  • Infrastructure support – Comprising the required actions to execute, in Coordination with the responsible local or remote team, the internal network, servers, computers, telephony, videoconference, and security systems.

  • Collaboration – Comprising the required services to assist as a bridge between the business and the corresponding IT stakeholders for projects and training.

All the activities should be tracked in our ticketing system and follow up and periodical reports are required. Payments timeline:
  • First Delivery: Support given, 50% on October 2020

  • Second Delivery: Support given, 50% on November 2020

What you will need:
  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related fields.

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience on the IT field, and experience in customer support activities

  • Languages: Fluency in English, knowledge of Spanish.

Core and Technical competencies:
  • Areas of Expertise: IT infrastructure (videoconferencing, telecommunications, routers, switches, servers, virtual machines –VMWare) PC maintenance and network troubleshooting. MS Office 365, MS Windows 10, MS Active Directory

  • Customer oriented, strong interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation, dedication, and the ability to work in an international team across hierarchical levels are indispensable

  • Proven ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment and in a context of dynamic change

  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes for incident, service request and knowledge management. ITIL certification is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and continuous improvement frameworks is a plus.
