Communications Content Consultant Background of this search: The Inter-American Development (IDB) Group is the leading source of Development Finance for Latin America and the Caribbean. It helps to improve lives by providing financial solutions and development know-how to public and private sector clients. The group comprises the IDB, which has worked with governments for 60 years; IDB Invest, which serves the private sector; and IDB Lab, which tests innovative ways to enable more inclusive growth. The team’s mission: The Communications Division (DCC) of the Knowledge, Innovation and Communications Sector (KIC) uses digital intelligence, data and creativity to help position the IDB Group as the preferred partner for development in the region. DCC works with media, email and social media channels to help give visibility to stories of impact in the region. The objective of the consultancy is that DCC is seeking a motivated and passionate bilingual content producer to provide services to IDB Lab. The consultant will work under the supervision of the Communications Business Partner for IDB Lab in KIC/DCC to create and edit content for different events and commitments and some of it to be published on IDB Lab’s website, ensuring consistency and accuracy of information, helping build and strengthen the IDB Lab’s corporate image. What you’ll do:
  • Curate, create, develop and edit written content for print or digital applications including blog posts, talking point, press releases, brochures, and infographics.

  • Review, draft and edit IDB entries for several blogs.

  • Help to promote IDB Lab via editorial coverage.

  • Develop multimedia content (e.g., GIFs, short videos and infographics) with third-party vendors as needed.

  • Maintain and create content for the IDB Lab website, report on website performance with key metrics. Manage the relationship with third-party vendors (e.g., graphic Designer, ebfactory) for the web.

  • Provide editorial training to IDB Lab staff based on business needs.

  • Write BID Lab related stories of impact for Improving Lives (

  • Manage an editorial calendar, gathering input from across BID Lab, defining messages, working with BID Lab specialists to craft client stories, and informing specialists of upcoming deadlines.

  • Prepare and send newsletters.

  • Assist on coordinate media relations opportunities (interviews, press articles, etc.) with KIC Department.

  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

  • Support the execution of social media and content marketing strategy.

  • Support the creation and editing of content in English and Spanish for social media corporate channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter).

What you’ll need:
  • Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries. We may offer assistance with relocation and visa applications for you and your eligible dependents.

  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or other related field preferred.

  • Experience: at least four years of relevant experience.

  • Languages: Good command of English and Spanish. (Portuguese proficiency is also desirable).

Core and Technical Competencies:
  • Excellent writing and editing.

  • Reporting and translation.

  • In-depth understanding of private sector and multilaterals in Latin America and the Caribbean.

  • Set priorities, define action plans and manage projects. Superior attention to detail.

  • Experience with Drupal, WordPress or other content Management Systems (CMS) preferred.

  • Work and write effectively under tight deadlines.

  • Effectively work as part of a team and effective communication skills.

  • Ability to think critically and creatively, and express ideas effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Experience with Salesforce, Social studio or similar scheduling and measurement tool.
