Title: Assistant Controller, Reporting and Audit Department: Finance Based in Washington D.C. As Assistant Controller Reporting and Audit, under the direction of the PSI Controller, you will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 5 to ensure the smooth running of the reporting and audit management processes at PSI. The Reporting and Audit team manages donor reporting and revenue management, accounts receivable, audit management and Financial Reporting. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a dynamic, fast paced environment, and will bring deep technical competency and experience in large complex organization. You should be a proven team leader, with experience working across multiple countries and cultures, who collaborates well across teams and functions.   • Supervise the preparation of monthly and annual Financial Statements, country-specific financial statements for local and project specific compliance audits, and other donor mandated compliance activities, as well as special reports for PSI management;

  • Supervise the Donor Reporting and Revenue Manager, overseeing the accurate preparation and submission of financial reports to funders, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and regulations, cash application and accounts receivable processes;

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of the month end close process

  • Manage the Financial Statement and various donor compliance audits, including US Government and other donors, and coordinate with Field Finance and country teams for local country audits, to ensure accurate and clear information is provided to the auditors;

  • Collaborate with the Controller and other members of the Finance team, and other departments, to identify and implement process improvements and ensure audit findings are tracked and implemented within financial reporting and audit, and across the finance functions in PSI;

  • Ensure that financial statements are prepared in an efficient manner, leveraging technology and ERP system, in collaboration with the Controller, PSI’s Director" id="link" class="link">Deputy Director Financial Systems and Special Projects, as well as PSI’s Technology team;

  • Analyze financial data and prepare appropriate management reports to facilitate PSI leadership understanding of PSI’s financial position;

  • Manage PSI’s Chart of Accounts, approving any changes, and ensuring that these map to PSI’s Financial Statements and funder reporting;

  • Work within Finance and Accounting, and with the Field Finance team and other departments as necessary to updated, develop, distribute and train on PSI’s Global Accounting Policies to ensure that these comply with funder regulations, accounting standards and other regulations as required;

  • Supervise a team of accounting professionals with full personnel management responsibilities

  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as needed

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, CPA required

  • At least 10 years of accounting experience related to financial reporting in public accounting, government contracting or non-profit organizations, including financial statement preparation and presentation

  • At least 5 years of experience in people management

  • In-depth knowledge of finance, accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;

  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of complex automated financial and accounting reporting systems (Infor Lawson, Oracle, SAP or similar ERP experience highly desirable);

  • Knowledge of federal and state Financial Regulations, including familiarity with Uniform Guidance, and donor regulations such as those of the Global Fund, DFID, KfW;

  • Ability to develop and prepare financial reports, statements and projections;

  • Demonstrated experience developing comprehensive Financial Management and accounting Training Courses for accounting, non-accounting and management staff

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively interact with senior management and individuals with varying degrees of financial knowledge

  • Ability to communicate with C-suite level

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong customer service focus;

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills;

  • Must have the ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment;

  • Ability to travel globally (approximately 15% travel).
