Job Overview:
The Associate, Lead Exposure will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Lead Exposure Program in Punjab. This position requires a highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual with strong stakeholder engagement skills. The incumbent will be responsible for on-ground program operations, data analysis, and collaboration with various government departments. The role is analytically demanding and requires the ability to work independently while supporting cross-functional teams. The Associate will report to the State Lead and will be involved in direct engagement with district stakeholders as the program rolls out, ensuring effective delivery and monitoring of the program's objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Associate include conducting desk research and primary data collection for governance and system gap assessments, supporting the establishment of a state task force, driving on-ground execution of work plans in priority districts, building and maintaining analytical dashboards, supporting program planning and implementation, providing technical assistance to the State Pollution Control Board, designing training materials, managing relationships with stakeholders, and preparing high-quality reports and presentations. The Associate will also maintain a state work plan tracker and communicate risks and delays to the State Lead.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's or Bachelor's degree in public health, environmental health, public policy, management, engineering, economics, or related fields, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience. Exceptional analytical and communication skills are required, along with strong problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential, as is the ability to think strategically and manage multiple tasks effectively. A demonstrated interest in public health and environmental health is also necessary.
Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's or Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as public health, environmental health, public policy, management, engineering, or economics. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding the complexities of public health systems and the specific challenges related to lead exposure and environmental health.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of work experience in management consulting, public health, public policy, or related areas. Candidates with experience working with state governments, NHM, or State Pollution Control Boards will be preferred. Experience in environmental health, chemical toxicants, or laboratory and surveillance systems is also advantageous, as is experience in management or healthcare consulting.
Languages:
Fluency in English and Hindi is mandatory for this position, while a working knowledge of the local language is preferred. This linguistic capability is essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and for conducting fieldwork in the local context.
Additional Notes:
This is a full-time position based in Mohali, Punjab, with travel required to program districts within the state and occasionally to New Delhi. The role is designed for individuals who are entrepreneurial and action-oriented, with a strong commitment to excellence in public health initiatives.
