Job Overview: The Operations SeniorAnalyst position is crucial for supporting the design, execution, monitoring, and closure of IDB operations in The Bahamas. This role involves close collaboration with Sector and Fiduciary Specialists to ensure that project cycles are effectively aligned with IDB strategies, policies, and the development priorities of the country. The analyst will work within the Country Office, which is part of the Caribbean Department, focusing on the promotion and development of country strategies and programming. The position requires a proactive approach to project management, ensuring that all operations are executed efficiently and in accordance with the established guidelines and objectives of the IDB.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Operations Senior Analyst will have a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting loan and technical cooperation operations, analyzing sectoral impacts of IDBG-financed operations, contributing to project design and start-up, coordinating project start-up workshops, applying predictive monitoring techniques to track operational activities, and ensuring timely supervision of projects. The analyst will also be responsible for preparing Project Monitoring Reports, supporting project closure activities, facilitating capacity-building workshops, and providing day-to-day support to Executing Agencies. Additionally, the analyst will act as a liaison between the IDB and executing agencies, coordinating across teams to streamline operational processes and ensuring compliance with Bank policies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field relevant to the responsibilities of the role. A PMI certification or equivalent project management certification is considered a plus. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and a solid understanding of project management principles. Knowledge of national procurement regulations and experience with Multilateral Financial Institutions or Bilateral Cooperation Agencies is highly desirable.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Engineering, or Business Administration is required for this position. Additional certifications in project management, such as PMI certification, are advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates who have at least 3 years of experience in similar roles focused on project management. Experience managing public sector projects financed by local or international sources is desirable, as is familiarity with national procurement regulations and the operational frameworks of Multilateral Financial Institutions or Bilateral Cooperation Agencies.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this role. Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, or French is considered desirable and may provide an advantage in the application process.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as a national staff contract for an initial duration of 36 months, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement.
