Job Overview:
The position of National IC - Project Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement Consultant – MRV4 is designed to support the implementation of the MRV4 Tanzania project. The consultant will be responsible for coordinating project activities, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication among all parties involved. This role requires a deep understanding of project management principles and stakeholder engagement strategies. The consultant will work closely with UNDP and other partners to facilitate the successful execution of project objectives, ensuring that all activities align with the overall goals of the MRV4 initiative. The consultant will also be expected to provide strategic insights and recommendations to enhance project outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the National IC - Project Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement Consultant include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinating project activities and ensuring timely execution of tasks as per the project timeline.
  • Engaging with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations, to foster collaboration and support for project initiatives.
  • Developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies to enhance participation and feedback.
  • Organizing and facilitating meetings, workshops, and training sessions to promote project objectives and gather input from stakeholders.
  • Monitoring project progress and preparing regular reports on activities, challenges, and achievements.
  • Providing technical assistance and guidance to project teams and stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to address them effectively.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • Proven experience in project management and stakeholder engagement, preferably in the context of development projects.
  • Strong understanding of the principles and practices of monitoring and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as project management, international development, environmental science, or a related discipline. A master's degree is preferred and may be considered an advantage.

Experience:
The level of experience needed for this position is a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, or related fields. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of UNDP projects, is highly desirable.

Languages:
The mandatory language requirement for this position is proficiency in English. Knowledge of Swahili is considered an asset and would be beneficial for effective communication with local stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is for a fixed term of 80 working days. The consultant will be engaged as an individual contractor under the UNDP procurement process. The role is expected to be full-time, and the consultant will be required to submit proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal. Compensation and benefits will be discussed during the negotiation phase, and the consultant is expected to adhere to UNDP's policies and guidelines throughout the assignment.
