Duties and Responsibilities:
The incumbent will assist in organizing and implementing proficiency tests (PTs) and interlaboratory comparisons (ILCs), ensuring accurate results and compliance with established protocols. Responsibilities include supporting the production of high-quality reference materials (RMs) for the analysis of radionuclides in marine samples, conducting sample preparation, and performing radiochemical and radioanalytical analyses of marine samples. The assistant will also carry out ancillary analyses relevant to marine samples, such as grain-size analysis and various other physico-chemical analyses. Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment used in PT/ILC/RM work is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, the assistant will contribute to the enhancement of the QMS, ensuring compliance with relevant documentary standards, and prepare and present technical reports and scientific papers on PTs, ILCs, and RMs, with data analysis subject to supervisory review.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in radiochemical and radioanalytical techniques applied to the analysis of environmental samples within the framework of a Quality Management System. Working experience with processing scientific datasets and preparing reports is essential. Experience in the production of reference materials and the organization of proficiency tests, or in their use, is considered an asset. The ability to prepare and present technical reports and scientific papers is also required, demonstrating proficiency in data analysis and effective communication of findings to stakeholders.
Educational Background:
The position requires a completed secondary education.
