Job Overview: The position of Asistente de Infraestructura - SSA5 at WFP involves supporting the infrastructure team in monitoring and implementing activities under the school meals program and potentially other related activities. The candidate will work closely with various stakeholders, including local authorities and community members, to ensure effective implementation of infrastructure projects that enhance food access and nutrition.
Duties and Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Asistente de Infraestructura include operational follow-up with field offices and implementing partners, reviewing and updating schedules and infrastructure activities, coordinating with teams to ensure compliance with established guidelines, conducting regular site visits to monitor progress, verifying the execution of activities, and ensuring the delivery of materials and equipment. The candidate will also supervise and validate that infrastructure interventions adhere to work plans and quality standards, review documentation related to expense legalization, support technical reviews of proposals and budgets from implementing partners, consolidate information for planning and reporting processes, and assist in the procurement and distribution of non-food items needed by schools. Additionally, the candidate will participate in analyzing information from surveys and mapping tools, draft various documents, and support other engineering activities as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: The minimum required qualifications for this position include a professional degree in Civil Engineering or Architecture. Candidates should possess a minimum of three years of work experience, with at least one year of relevant experience in civil engineering, preferably in the administration and implementation of construction projects, rehabilitation, and/or community space conditioning. Competencies required for this role include a good understanding of construction management procedures, excellent knowledge of the construction sector, experience in civil engineering design, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and strong communication skills. The candidate should also have experience working with multiple stakeholders, including government institutions and cooperating partners, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
