Job Overview: The Programme Associate at the G-6 level plays a crucial role within the Child Protection section of UNICEF. This position involves providing specialized program and administrative support to facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of UNICEF's programs. The incumbent will engage in data analysis, budget tracking, reporting, and coordination with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery and compliance with organizational rules. The role requires the incumbent to exercise judgment, anticipate needs, and recommend actions that contribute to program planning, implementation, and reporting results. The Programme Associate will work closely with various units, including Programme, Operations, Finance, and Supply, as well as external partners such as the Ministry of Justice and civil society organizations, particularly focusing on justice for children partners.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Associate include:
Project Management and Implementing Partnership Coordination: Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective project management and partnership coordination.
Data Management, Analysis & Reporting: Engage in data management and analysis to support program reporting and decision-making processes.
Grant Management, Budget Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor budgets and manage grants to ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Digital Innovation & Operational Efficiency: Contribute to digital innovation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency within the program.
Communication, Knowledge Sharing and Dissemination: Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing among stakeholders to promote best practices and lessons learned.
Capacity Building & Event Coordination: Support capacity-building initiatives and coordinate events related to child protection.
Flexibility & Surge Support: Provide flexibility and surge support as needed to respond to emerging challenges and opportunities.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a minimum of secondary education in related fields. Additionally, candidates should have at least 6 years of relevant work experience in areas such as child protection, access to justice, program management, grant management, budget monitoring, donor reporting, and partnership management. Candidates should also demonstrate skills in data analysis, knowledge management, and monitoring and evaluation.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes secondary education in any related fields. Candidates with further education or professional courses related to child protection or program management are encouraged to apply, as this will be considered an asset.
Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience in fields related to child protection, access to justice, program management, and other related areas. Experience in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts is particularly valuable.
Languages: Proficiency in both English and Turkish is mandatory for this position. Additionally, knowledge of another official UN language such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish is considered desirable.
