Job Overview: The position of Communications Officer at the World Bank involves managing communications workstreams across various trust funds and supporting the effective delivery of the Climate Communications Shared Services model. The role requires the individual to serve as the primary communications focal point for assigned trust funds, including the Climate Smart Fund (CSF), the Pandemic Emergency Financing Facility (PMI), Enable, and the Canada Fund. The Communications Officer will develop and manage annual communications work plans in collaboration with Program Management Units (PMUs), task teams, and fund management teams. The officer will also advise technical teams on communications strategies, narrative development, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that communications priorities align with institutional goals. This position is crucial for enhancing the visibility and impact of the World Bank's initiatives in climate and development sectors.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Communications Officer will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
Leading communications workstream activities for assigned trust funds, ensuring effective communication strategies are in place.
Developing and managing annual communications work plans in collaboration with relevant teams.
Advising technical teams on effective communications approaches and stakeholder engagement.
Monitoring communications priorities and delivery schedules across programs.
Coordinating communications activities across multiple trust funds to ensure consistency.
Leading the planning and production of donor-facing reports and publications.
Managing annual report production processes, including timelines and stakeholder engagement.

Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Communications Officer position should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to translate complex technical information into accessible formats. They should have experience in managing communications workstreams and developing strategic communications plans. Familiarity with donor reporting and project management is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality and timely delivery of communications outputs.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, international relations, or a related field is required. Experience: The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in communications, public relations, or a related field. Experience working in international development or with donor organizations is highly desirable.
