Job Overview: The internship aims to provide operational support to the Administration and Finance section, focusing on year-end inventory, records management, and archive-related activities. Interns will gain practical exposure to UNICEF's administrative processes, internal controls, and document management standards. The role involves supporting inventory classification, indexing, filing, digitization, and preparation of documentation for archive disposal. Interns will assist in preparing count sheets, verification documents, and reconciliation trackers, as well as performing data entry and logistical arrangements for inventory activities. This position is designed to enhance the intern's understanding of finance-related documentation and processes within UNICEF.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support inventory management by classifying, indexing, and filing documents.
Assist in the digitization of records and preparation of documentation for approved archive disposal processes.
Prepare count sheets, location lists, and verification documents for inventory activities.
Compile and track finance-related supporting documents, including payment files and expenditure records.
Perform data entry and maintain simple trackers for inventory and archive activities.
Support logistical arrangements for inventory and archive processes.
Collaborate with finance staff to ensure proper documentation and follow-up on financial records.
Engage in various administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
Must be enrolled in a degree program or be a recent graduate in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Public Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Fluency in English or French is required.
Excellent academic record demonstrated through recent academic documents.
Previous professional experience is considered a strong asset.
Knowledge of spreadsheets, particularly advanced Excel functions, is desirable.
Must be at least 18 years old and have no immediate family members working in any UNICEF office.
Must meet UNICEF’s child safeguarding standards.
Educational Background: Candidates must be enrolled in or have recently graduated from a relevant degree program at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher level in fields such as Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Management, Economics, Public Administration, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management. Academic excellence is emphasized, and recent academic documents must be provided to demonstrate this.
Experience: Relevant experience at the country level, particularly in development, fragile settings, and humanitarian contexts, is desirable. Previous internships with UNICEF Cameroon are not permitted, and candidates should have a strong academic background and any relevant professional experience will be considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English or French is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an advantage but is not required.
