With an annual portfolio of approximately $12 million and a dedicated workforce of over 200 staff members, DRC focuses its efforts on protection and economic recovery (Ec-Rec) sectors in regions such as Bekaa, North Lebanon, and Beirut. Additionally, DRC plays a vital role in contributing to the evidence base and coordination structures in the country through its Evidence Generation and Referral Information Management (RIMs) teams.

Job Overview:
The Accountability Assistant will be responsible for managing DRC Lebanon's community feedback mechanism (CFM) and will serve as the focal point for handling beneficiary complaints, feedback, and communication channels nationwide, including hotline and email. The role requires maintaining familiarity with interagency referral pathways and DRC's referral information management system (RIMS). The Accountability Assistant will work closely with the Programmes and MEAL teams to ensure accurate and efficient responses to beneficiaries’ requests and feedback. Responsibilities include collecting data through DRC's feedback mechanism routes, ensuring proper registration and handling of data, and supporting the analysis of trends, needs, and gaps. The Assistant will also manage the national hotline and other feedback sources, ensuring that feedback is channeled to the appropriate stakeholders in compliance with DRC’s and donor requirements. Continuous monitoring of preferences for feedback channels and conducting community consultations will also be part of the role, along with delivering training to external actors on CFM and Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP).

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main duties and responsibilities of the Accountability Assistant include managing and monitoring DRC’s CFM across various channels, such as hotline, email, and in-person interactions. The Assistant will receive, process, and respond to feedback, complaints, and requests for information, ensuring timely and appropriate responses. They will guide beneficiaries and community members seeking information or assistance, collect and maintain feedback data in relevant DRC information management systems, and ensure proper referral of complaints to relevant teams. The Assistant will follow up on referred feedback to ensure appropriate action is taken and document outcomes. Regular field visits to monitor CFM functionality and accessibility will be conducted, along with preparing monthly reports highlighting key trends and concerns. The role also involves delivering training sessions for DRC staff and partners on AAP and CFM systems, supporting assessments, and maintaining accurate records related to accountability activities.

Required Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, information management, statistics, public administration, or a related field. A minimum of one year of experience in managing community feedback mechanisms within an NGO context is required. Familiarity with DRC’s Referral Information Management System (RIMS) is preferred. Candidates should have experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, data analysis, and delivering training sessions. Knowledge of participatory approaches to community engagement is an asset, along with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. Proficiency in spoken and written Arabic and English is mandatory, and strong data entry and quality skills, particularly in MS Excel, are essential. Previous experience in protection programming, including community-based protection programming, is advantageous, as is a commitment to protection principles and data protection standards.

Educational Background:
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as social sciences, information management, statistics, or public administration. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of community feedback mechanisms and the data management processes involved in the role.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant experience in an NGO setting, specifically in managing community feedback mechanisms. Candidates should also have experience in qualitative and quantitative research methods, data analysis, and delivering training sessions. Familiarity with DRC’s systems and processes is a plus, as is experience in protection programming.

Languages:
Proficiency in both Arabic and English is mandatory for this position. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in both spoken and written forms. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The contract for this position is set to last until March 2027, pending donor approval. The designated duty station is Beirut, Lebanon, with frequent travel across the country. The expected start date for this role is October 15, 202
