Job Overview:
The Nutrition Officer NO2 position at UNICEF involves providing professional, technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for nutrition programs/projects within the Country Programme. This includes development planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results. The role is crucial in ensuring the success of nutrition initiatives by conducting situation analyses, developing program goals and strategies, and providing technical support to government and NGO partners. The officer will also engage in networking and partnership building to facilitate program implementation and capacity building among stakeholders, ensuring that maternal and child rights are prioritized.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support to programme development and planning: Conduct and update situation analyses for nutrition-related programs, contribute to the establishment of program goals and strategies, and provide technical support throughout programming processes.
• Programme management, monitoring, and delivery of results: Collaborate with colleagues and partners to address operational issues, monitor resource use, and prepare regular reports for management and stakeholders.
• Technical and operational support: Assist government counterparts and partners in understanding UNICEF policies and best practices related to nutrition.
• Networking and partnership building: Build effective partnerships with government and national stakeholders, participate in inter-agency meetings, and prepare resource mobilization materials.
• Innovation, knowledge management, and capacity building: Capture and share lessons learned, benchmark best practices, and participate in capacity-building initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor or equivalent degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field. They should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience in health, program management, nutrition, or related areas. Skills in nutrition planning, program management, monitoring and evaluation, and public health are essential. Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of another UN language or local language is desirable.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in fields such as Nutrition and Dietetics, Public Health, Health Administration, epidemiology, global health, maternal and child health, health policy, health management, or health/nutrition research is required for this position.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in areas such as health, program management, nutrition, adolescent development, public health, and monitoring and evaluation. Experience in partnership development, capacity building, and resource mobilization is also beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.
