This position involves providing consultancy services to strengthen the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol in Honduras. The consultant will be responsible for assessing the current status of the protocol's implementation and identifying areas for improvement. The consultant will also be expected to develop a comprehensive work plan that outlines the specific tasks and timelines for the consultancy period, which is set for five months. Educational Background:
Candidates should have at least a Master's degree in environmental science, law, public policy, or a related field. A PhD in a relevant discipline would be an advantage. Additional certifications or training related to biodiversity conservation or international environmental law would also be beneficial.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in environmental policy, biodiversity conservation, or related fields. Experience working with UN agencies or international organizations is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a track record of successfully managing consultancy projects and engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the consultancy will be conducted in Honduras. Proficiency in English is also required, as reports and communications may need to be prepared in English. Knowledge of additional languages, particularly indigenous languages of Honduras, would be considered an asset.
Additional Notes:
This consultancy is expected to last for a period of five months, with specific timelines outlined in the work plan. The position is classified as an individual contractor role, and candidates should be prepared to submit their proposals through the UNDP Quantum Supplier Portal. Required Qualifications:
