Job Overview: The Technical Report Writing Consultant will play a crucial role in supporting UNICEF's Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP) 2026-202
This position involves compiling and drafting key written products that fulfill institutional and interagency reporting obligations. The consultant will be responsible for creating reports that track UN entities' performance on gender equality, the Annual Report on progress related to the GEAP, and the Global Annual Results Report aimed at donors, partners, and the public. The role requires the ability to compile content from various sources into high-quality reports that adhere to strict formats and timelines, necessitating rapid turnaround and attention to detail.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Compile and draft the UN System-Wide Action Plan report on gender equality performance.
Prepare the Annual Report on progress related to the Gender Equality Action Plan for submission to the UNICEF Executive Board.
Develop the Global Annual Results Report for diverse audiences, including donors and partners.
Ensure that all reports meet high-quality standards and comply with UNICEF's guidelines.
Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather necessary content and insights for the reports.
Work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
Manage tight deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
Uphold UNICEF's values and principles throughout the reporting process.
Required Qualifications:
Excellent writing skills, particularly in drafting reports on gender-related issues.
Proven experience in report writing within an international agency or similar environment.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team.
Strong interpersonal skills to establish effective working relationships.
Familiarity with Do No Harm principles and ethics in reporting.
Proficiency in MS Windows, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint, and other relevant software.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, International Relations/Affairs, Public Policy, or Communications is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, which are central to UNICEF's mission.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible professional experience is required. This experience should include significant work in report writing, particularly on gender-related issues, and familiarity with the workings of international agencies, including the UN.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. A working knowledge of French or Spanish is considered an asset, enhancing the consultant's ability to engage with a broader audience and stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The contract duration for this consultancy is 10.5 months, and the working arrangement is remote with no travel required.
