The Information Management Officer (ActivityInfo) position is a critical role within UNICEF Ukraine, aimed at enhancing the organization's monitoring and reporting capabilities. This position is designed as a 12-month national UN Volunteer assignment, focusing on the implementation of an integrated Monitoring System and data ecosystem. The officer will be responsible for migrating and structuring priority data, stabilizing reporting workflows, and developing Power BI dashboards to facilitate data analysis. The role requires close collaboration with various teams within UNICEF, emphasizing knowledge transfer and capacity building among staff to ensure sustainability beyond the assignment period. The successful candidate will play a key role in operationalizing the Monitoring System, ensuring that it meets the needs of program management and decision-making processes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Information Management Officer position should possess a strong background in information management, data analysis, and reporting. Required qualifications include proficiency in data management software, particularly ActivityInfo and Power BI, as well as advanced skills in Excel. Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation frameworks, data quality assurance, and reporting standards is essential. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Additionally, candidates should exhibit effective communication skills to facilitate knowledge transfer and training of UNICEF staff.
Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in information management, data science, statistics, social sciences, or a related field is required for this position. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of data management principles and practices, as well as experience in implementing monitoring systems in humanitarian or development contexts.
Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant professional experience in information management, data analysis, or monitoring and evaluation. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in humanitarian or development settings, is highly desirable. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully implementing data management systems and tools, as well as experience in training and capacity building for staff.
Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within UNICEF. Proficiency in Ukrainian or Russian is highly desirable, as it will facilitate effective communication with local partners and stakeholders. Additional language skills may be considered an asset, particularly in the context of working with diverse communities in Ukraine.
Additional Notes:
This is a full-time national UN Volunteer assignment, with a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of USD $1,869 to cover living expenses. The contract duration is for 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on funding and performance. The position does not guarantee renewal. UN Volunteers are entitled to medical and life insurance coverage, as well as annual leave, learning leave, and sick leave entitlements. Volunteers are responsible for organizing their own accommodation during the assignment.

- ActivityInfo Implementation and Data Migration: Complete the migration and import of historical and current partner reporting data into ActivityInfo, ensuring accurate mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation of records. Document the migration process and results.
- Excel Reporting and Data-Processing Tools: Stabilize and optimize standardized Excel templates for data preparation and ActivityInfo import, including implementing validation rules and automated checks. Ensure alignment between Excel tools and ActivityInfo structures.
- Data Integration and Power BI: Establish and optimize dataflows, connections, and models linking ActivityInfo with other UNICEF data sources. Support the development of the core Monitoring System Power BI dashboard and analytical views.
- Documentation and Handover: Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data dictionaries, SOPs, and troubleshooting guidance. Facilitate knowledge transfer to UNICEF staff to ensure user adoption and system sustainability.
- Other Responsibilities: If key tasks are completed ahead of schedule, the officer may take on additional related tasks to further develop the Monitoring System. By the end of the assignment, the core system should be operational and maintainable by UNICEF staff, with established procedures for data updates and quality assurance.
