Job Overview:
The Recruitment and Social Media Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the recruitment process for various job categories within IOM. This position involves assisting in sourcing, attracting, and marketing recruitment efforts, as well as screening applications for professional roles worldwide and at headquarters. The successful candidate will be responsible for posting job vacancies and utilizing both internal and external channels, including emails, job boards, social media, and relevant forums, to attract potential candidates. Additionally, the assistant will create and update posts to optimize them for search engines, ensuring that they reach a wider audience. The role also includes reviewing panel compositions to ensure diversity and balance, providing guidance to hiring managers, and collaborating closely with the National Human Resource Officer. The assistant will engage actively in candidate sourcing and attraction activities, utilizing social media's full capabilities to reach a diverse pool of applicants. Furthermore, the assistant will handle application screening, respond to queries from stakeholders, and assist in maintaining talent pipelines, all while providing administrative support to hiring managers during the recruitment process.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Recruitment and Social Media Assistant include:
  • Posting job vacancies and assisting in recruitment marketing through various channels.
  • Creating and updating job posts with relevant keywords for search engine optimization.
  • Reviewing panel compositions to ensure diversity and balance, and providing guidance to hiring managers.
  • Assigning access for panel members and HR focal persons to applications in the recruitment platform.
  • Engaging in candidate sourcing and attraction activities for all job levels.
  • Acting as the primary focal point for application screening using pre-screening criteria.
  • Preparing and sending out closing notices to hiring managers and selection panels.
  • Analyzing and responding to complex queries received in the Recruitment Unit’s mailbox.
  • Conducting initial reviews of selection documents from hiring managers. 1
  • Tagging candidates in the e-recruitment system and notifying unsuccessful candidates of selection results. 1
  • Maintaining tracking lists related to assigned duties and collaborating with other Recruitment Assistants. 1
  • Supporting the preparation of quarterly and annual statistical reports. 1
  • Providing administrative support in organizing written tests and scheduling interviews. 1
  • Assisting in initiating background checks and verification requests. 1
  • Serving as a backup for the Recruiting Specialist in the assigned region. 1
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Recruitment and Social Media Assistant position include:
  • A university degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with three years of relevant experience; or a completed high school education with five years of relevant experience.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
  • High level of computer literacy and experience with HR IT systems and applications is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Oracle Recruiting is an advantage.
  • Experience with candidate sourcing and attraction techniques is essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Alternatively, candidates with completed high school or secondary school education must have five years of relevant experience. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that the educational background meets international standards.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have a minimum of three years of relevant experience if they hold a university degree, or five years of relevant experience if they have completed high school. Experience in a multi-cultural setting is considered an advantage, as it demonstrates the ability to work effectively in diverse environments. Additionally, candidates should have a high level of computer literacy and familiarity with HR IT systems, which is crucial for managing recruitment processes efficiently.

Languages:
