Job Overview:
The Asistente de Cadena de Suministro (Retail) will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of the Market-Based Assistance (ABM) program under the direct supervision of the Supply Chain Officer. This position involves providing technical, operational, and administrative support to field offices, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries. The role requires managing billing and financial processes, monitoring operational indicators, and maintaining data and reporting systems. The Asistente will also contribute to supplier management and development, ensuring compliance with WFP policies and procedures, and enhancing the efficiency and traceability of supply chain operations. This position is vital for ensuring that WFP's humanitarian assistance reaches those in need effectively and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide specialized technical support to ABM operations and activities, applying standard processes and guidelines to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries.
  • Address requests from field offices proactively, ensuring timely, accurate responses aligned with quality standards, and maintaining effective communication for the successful execution of operational activities.
  • Manage administrative and financial processes related to operations, including billing, budget tracking, and operational progress management; prepare periodic reports on distributed tonnages and operational projections.
  • Monitor and track invoices through the Invoice Tracking System (ITS), ensuring compliance with corporate procedures and standards, as well as proper traceability of payment processes.
  • Analyze the operational pipeline and support the planning of ABM operations, contributing to the monitoring of performance indicators (KPIs), local purchase traceability, and integration of supply chain requirements.
  • Maintain and update databases and records of purchases and suppliers, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of information, as well as compliance with institutional reporting requirements.
  • Assist in organizing training for suppliers and implementing partners, and prepare clear, precise, and timely reports that include relevant analyses for decision-making.
  • Strengthen the supplier roster by identifying and incorporating new actors, and monitor supplier performance evaluations.
  • Perform any other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:
• University degree in Economics, Logistics, Marketing, Statistics, Business Administration, or any other relevant field. • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in the public or private sector. • At least 1 year of post-graduate work experience related to the functions of the position. • Experience in program implementation, project management, and/or logistics operations is essential. • Desirable experience in projects with international organizations or in the humanitarian sector. • Proficiency in basic digital tools (Excel, Word, data collection platforms desirable). • Ability to collect, systematize, and analyze information. • Solid knowledge of MS Office tools, particularly Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as Economics, Logistics, Marketing, Statistics, or Business Administration is required for this position. This educational background provides the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of supply chain management and the operational requirements of humanitarian assistance programs.

Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in either the public or private sector. This includes at least 1 year of post-graduate experience directly related to the functions of the position. Experience in program implementation, project management, and logistics operations is essential, with a preference for candidates who have worked on projects with international organizations or in the humanitarian sector.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish (level C) is mandatory, and proficiency in English is desirable. This language requirement ensures effective communication with diverse stakeholders and partners involved in the humanitarian assistance efforts.
